1. Select an article from the Front (National and World News) Section of the newspaper (please check with me if you have an article from another section). The article should have CONNECTIONS to our work in class (our unit, a lesson, a person’s, comment, your ideas) and/or RELEVANCE (to our city, state, nation, international).

2. After carefully reading the article, type a heading in the following format.
Author, “Title of Article” Name of Newspaper, Date (mm/dd/yy) Published, Page #.

3. You must write three well-organized paragraphs

a. Paragraph 1 will summarize the article

• What is the THESIS or point of the article?
• Is this article taking a certain PERSPECTIVE
• Include the details of WHO, WHAT, WHEN, and WHERE

b. Paragraph 2 will explain the CONNECTIONS and RELEVANCE

• How is this article connected to our studies?
• How is this article relevant to world events?

c. Paragraph 3 will be your ANALYSIS and SUPPOSITIONS

• What does the future look like? What will the future be?
• What needs to be done?
