We went to the Civil Rights Institute in Birmingham and then crossed the street to the Kelly Ingram Park where Bull Connor ordered the arrest of children and high school students. We met Freedom Writers at the Rosa Parks Museum and listened to Dr. Martin Luther King talking about God speaking to him in the very kitchen where he lived in Montgomery. We visited the National Voting Rights
Museum, went through a simulation of slavery at
the Slavery and African Civilization Museum, and walked over the bridge in Selma.
